NOVI, MI. – December 15, 2008 – Ryder Integrated Logistics™, a subsidiary of Ryder System, Inc.® recently announced the successful implementation of an automated Bill of Lading & Invoice Processing System. Ryder IL provider of supply chain services to many of the Fortune 100 had been struggling with the manual effort of dealing with 2,500 invoices or bills of lading (BOL) each day.

To address the problem Ryder turned to BRT, Inc. an EMC Select Service Team™ (SST) member and an expert in advance capture. Working in close collaboration with Ryder’s accounts payable and technical staff, BRT developed a process that incorporates EMC’s Captiva Input Accel™ and Dispatcher™ software to automatically scan the nearly 18,000 pages of documents daily, extract an average of 25 data fields from each invoice or BOL and automatically generate a payment transaction into Ryder’s Freight Bill Payment system.

The new, automated process required six months to implement and allowed Ryder to reduce their manual data entry staff by one-half. The corresponding dollar savings realized by Ryder generated a return on investment that will continue to deliver significant savings for years to come.
